Apolis Activism

These Santa Barbara, CA-born brothers launched Apolis Activism in 2004 with a line of cotton T-shirts so soft and durable it inspired a cult following. Their socially-minded label (the word apolis means "global citizen") has since grown to include utilitarian shorts, jackets, and accessories that aren't any less sharp for being sustainably produced.

Chambray ain't just about shirts anymore. These days, just about everything is being made out of the classicly American fabric. Ties, hats, and now swim trunks—trim, awesomely stylish ones like our friends over at Apolis Activism just came out with.

"When summer rolls around, I'm ready to get down to a few basics: a classic pair of trunks, some tees and canvas sneakers," says James Wilson of Secret Forts.

For most people swim shorts are usually reserved for the beach, but with an increasing amount of tasteful options out there, we suggest pairing them with an oxford shirt and some moccasins.
